[Hiring] Senior MLRO / Compliance Officer Consultant @Shufti

Role Description

Shufti is researching Brazil's iGaming, gambling, and betting market to tailor our identity verification and compliance solutions to local regulatory requirements and the practical realities operators face. We're looking to speak with experienced compliance professionals who have worked directly with operators serving the Brazilian market, to understand how compliance actually works day-to-day, not just on paper.

This is a paid, short-term advisory engagement, not a full-time role. We're looking to speak with several qualified professionals individually.

We're Looking For:

• Player onboarding & KYC
  • Verification flows, document types accepted, friction points
• AML screening
  • Tools used, sanctions/PEP screening processes, risk scoring approaches
• Transaction monitoring
  • Thresholds, alert triggers, false-positive handling
• Investigations
  • How cases are opened, escalated, and closed
• Regulatory reporting
  • Reporting obligations to Brazilian authorities, formats, deadlines
• Ongoing compliance
  • Periodic reviews, re-verification, policy updates

We're also interested in the operational texture behind these processes:

• Day-to-day responsibilities as MLRO / compliance officer
• Systems and vendors/tools currently in use (and their limitations)
• Decision-making and escalation chains internally
• Manual/workaround tasks that ideally would be automated
• Biggest pain points with current compliance tooling or workflows

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience as an MLRO, Head of Compliance, or senior compliance officer at an operator (or provider serving operators) active in the Brazilian gambling/betting/iGaming market
• Direct working knowledge of Brazil's regulatory framework for betting/gaming (SPA/MF licensing regime, AML obligations, etc.)
• Practical, day-to-day familiarity with KYC/AML tooling and workflows - not purely policy-level knowledge
• Strong spoken English - sessions will be conducted and recorded/notated in English
• Comfortable speaking candidly about internal processes and pain points under NDA
