[Hiring] Regional Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Specialist @Optasia

Role Description

As a Regional Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Specialist, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and sustainable development of the microfinance sector. You will act as the first line of defense to support the Company in managing risks related to regulatory changes and uncertainty.

• Act as the first line of contact and engagement with relevant regulators to proactively manage and mitigate the potential impact of new regulations.
• Drive and/or support the establishment of horizon scanning activities and early warning signals of upcoming regulatory changes.
• Support the Head of Regulator Affairs & Compliance and Regulatory Compliance Managers in broader strategy and activities.
• Understand relevant laws and regulations governing operations and monitor compliance with new regulations.
• Support Regulatory Compliance Managers in performing structured assessments of regulatory compliance.
• Support the implementation of a robust regulatory compliance governance framework, including training and awareness activities.
• Develop marketing materials, training programs, and internal presentations to ensure alignment with regulatory compliance.
• Perform various general administrative duties, such as gathering internal information in response to compliance queries.
• Support the business in responding to queries related to compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
• Be a business partner to local commercial teams to facilitate the go-to-market process.
• Primary responsibility for the WAEMU (West Africa) region served by the BCEAO.
• Act as a regional partner to other internal assurance providers, including Internal Audit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
• Experience of 4-6 years in fintech environment, preferably in the microfinance industry.
