Role Description

Compliance Reviewer – Starting Market Rate Salary $68,834.40

This position’s headquarters can be located in any available HHSC LTCR office in the state of Texas and reports to the Quality Assurance Regional Program Manager.

• Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Regional Programs (QARP) Manager, the QARP Compliance Reviewer (CR) reviews certification and licensure forms that resulted from a deficient practice for the Life Safety Code (LSC) Programs:
• Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF)
• Assisted Living Facilities (ALF)
• Skilled Nursing Facilities/Nursing Facilities (SNF/NF)
• Day Activity and Health Services (DAHS)
• Home and Community Support Services Agencies (HCSSA)
• Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Centers (PPECC)
• The QARP CR for LSC participates in review committees and teams, prepares data for review and analysis, and assists in identifying regional trends and patterns.
• Performs advanced technical and professional reviews of certification surveys, licensure inspections, and investigations conducted in long term care facilities to determine compliance with state/federal requirements and protocols, and Long-Term Care-Regulatory (LTCR) policies and procedures.
• Transforms qualitative data into quantitative data and assists with in-depth analysis of qualitative and quantitative program-specific data.
• Interprets statistical evidence and develops work plans, reports, and documentary support for program development and assessment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 101, 2012 Edition.
• Knowledge of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 70, 2011, NFPA 25, 2011, NFPA 72. 2010, NFPA 99, 2012, NFPA 110, 2010, and NFPA 13, 2010 (including 13R and 13D).
• Knowledge of any specialized program area in Long-term Care Regulatory.
• Knowledge of the principles and methods of field inspection, investigation, or quality control from any program area.
• Skilled in conducting investigations and determining proper courses of action.
• Skill in using Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a professional team environment.
• Ability to organize workloads and set priorities to meet deadlines and function with minimal supervision.
• Ability to prepare concise reports.

Requirements

• Life Safety Code Certified Preferred.
• NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) Certified Fire Inspector 1 preferred.
• Registration or licensure in a health care related field with experience in LTC preferred.
• Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in any Long-Term Care Regulatory program such as Life Safety Code, Home Health, ICF/IID, Health Facilities, PPECC, or Assisted Living Facilities.
• At least 1 year of experience using NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 101, 2012 Edition.
• At least 1 year of experience using NFPA 70, 2011, NFPA 25, 2011, NFPA 72. 2010, NFPA 99, 2012, NFPA 110, 2010, and NFPA 13, 2010 (including 13R and 13D).
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
