[Hiring] Compliance Coordinator @PHEAA

Role Description

PHEAA is seeking a Compliance Coordinator to join the State Grant & Special Programs Compliance Team! This challenging and rewarding role is responsible for responding to compliance inquiries from schools and/or PHEAA staff.

• Review schools and student records to determine program eligibility.
• Review correspondence, policy, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state statutes, regulations, and sub-regulatory requirements.
• Interact with Compliance Management, post-secondary education staff, and other external customers with a high degree of professionalism.
• This fully remote position requires occasional travel outside of regular business hours.
• Candidates must reside within the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area.

Qualifications

• Experience in compliance management and program review.
• Strong analytical skills to assess compliance with regulations.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with educational institutions.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive analysis and research of statutes and regulations.

Requirements

• Conduct compliance review/testing of post-secondary school student files related to the analysis, processing of data, and awarding of aid in the student financial aid programs administered by PHEAA.
• Review school policies and procedures regarding state financial aid program administration.
• Observe and appraise school operations; provide technical assistance and advice to institutions.
• Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all levels of management within educational institutions.
• Prepare program review correspondence detailing findings, audit exceptions, and areas of concern.
• Review and analyze correspondence from educational institutions regarding audit exceptions.
• Provide technical assistance to PHEAA staff regarding program reviews and examinations.
• Collaborate with USDE auditors and related federal agencies.
• Identify potential risks and non-compliance in Agency correspondences and processes.

Benefits

• Salary: Grade 14 ($54,995 – $72,000)
• Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• 100% Remote (Up to 50% Travel)
• Location: Headquarters - 1200 North 7th Street Harrisburg PA 17102

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with or perform training at workshops or conferences related to the Program Review Process.
• Comply with the Agency’s enterprise security and privacy policies and departmental procedures.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
