Role Description

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Civil Rights Office is looking for a Civil Rights Program and Compliance Specialist 1 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

This position assists with the implementation of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Support Services and On-the-Job Training (OJT) Services Programs for Alaska. The incumbent provides a high degree of outreach administrative support, event planning and marketing in support of these programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
• Expresses information effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information.
• Makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations.
• Listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
• Knowledge of the scientific principles, methods, and processes used to conduct systematic and objective inquiry.
• Knowledge of various types of contracts, techniques, or requirements for contracting or procurement.

Requirements

• Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Professional experience monitoring contractor activities and administering construction contracts to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
