[Hiring] Senior Communications Specialist @Vistra Communications

Role Description

Vistra is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist to analyze, develop, and execute written/visual communication content related to suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. The specialist will design creative messaging products, resources, and campaigns to promote suicide prevention efforts and increase audience/user adoption of tools/resources. This role develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity and works independently with some guidance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related technical field and 7+ years of directly related experience (10+ years total work experience)
• 7+ years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or marketing
• Experience designing and developing content for creative media campaigns and “storytelling” products
• Expert in developing communication materials such as fact sheets, one-pagers, and PowerPoint presentations
• Experience with leading strategic communications plans from a strategy lens, providing a fresh interpretation of how to effectively communicate with stakeholders
• Experience with graphic design, including proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
• Ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans to enhance visibility, audience relevance, and engagement
• Ability to provide clear verbal and written communications to a variety of internal and external stakeholders in alignment with DoW style expectations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly on behalf of a large organization
• Ability to obtain a security clearance

Requirements

• Experience working in a military environment or with military personnel
• Experience in a DoW or government public affairs shop creating communication materials for military audiences
• Experience with messaging efforts around organizational transformation, workforce development/training, or public health/science communication
• Experience tracking, measuring, and analyzing effectiveness of communication efforts
• Ability to clearly and accurately convey messages in a fast-paced environment across stakeholders and workstreams
• Possession of exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail for high-visibility deliverables
• Additional experience in social media planning, event coordination, and stakeholder outreach communications preferred
• Experience in website redesign
• Experience in Adobe InDesign or Illustrator
