[Hiring] Manager, External Corporate Communications @FICO

Role Description

As Manager of External Corporate Communications for FICO Scores, you will join a high performing team and work across a broad range of business priorities, audiences, and channels. This role is ideal for a versatile communicator who can quickly move between media relations, content development, executive visibility, stakeholder communications, and issues support while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and a strong understanding of the business.

In this role, you will support FICO Scores across both B2B and B2C — tailoring messages for lenders, industry, and consumers alike. Working closely with communications leaders and partners across the FICO Scores business, you will support storytelling for lender, industry, consumer, and policy audiences. The role requires excellent writing, strong media instincts, sound judgment, flexibility, and the ability to turn complex credit scoring and financial services topics into clear, credible communications.

What You'll Contribute

• Support development and execution of communications strategies across FICO Scores business priorities.
• Support proactive and responsive media relations.
• Build and maintain relationships with relevant reporters; develop pitches, coordinate responses to inbound inquiries, and help identify timely media opportunities.
• Create a high volume of clear, compelling content, including press releases, media pitches, bylined articles, blog posts, Q&As, talking points, presentations, briefing documents, social content, and internal communications.
• Develop executive visibility opportunities and content, including point-of-view platforms, speaking submissions, event preparation, contributed content, social posts, and media engagement materials.
• Prepare and support executives and subject matter experts for interviews, speeches, panels, podcasts, briefings, and other external engagements.
• Work closely with product, analytics, legal, marketing, sales, and other cross-functional partners to ensure communications are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with business priorities.
• Monitor media coverage, policy conversations, competitor activity, and industry trends to identify storytelling opportunities and flag emerging issues or reputational risks.
• Support communications planning and execution for launches, research reports, partnerships, events, and other business milestones.
• Manage assigned projects from planning through execution, keeping workstreams organized, stakeholders informed, and deliverables on schedule.
• Track and evaluate communications results, using insights to strengthen future content, media outreach, and executive visibility efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, or a related field.
• 4–7+ years of experience in communications, media relations, public affairs, public relations, or a related field; experience in financial services, fintech, technology, or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce polished content across formats, audiences, and executive voices.
• Experience supporting media relations and developing relationships with business, trade, financial, policy, or consumer reporters.
• Experience developing executive communications and visibility programs, including thought leadership, speaking support, social content, and briefing materials.
• Ability to understand complex or technical information quickly and translate it into clear, accurate, audience-appropriate communications.
• Comfort working across multiple subject areas and shifting priorities without losing attention to detail or message consistency.
• Strong project-management skills and demonstrated ability to move work from concept through execution in a collaborative environment.
• Sound judgment and the ability to navigate sensitive, legal, regulatory, or reputational considerations.
• Experience using PR tools such as Muck Rack for media monitoring, outreach, and reporting.
• Proactive, curious, highly collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership while knowing when to seek input or escalate an issue.

• The targeted base pay range for this role is: $81,900 to $128,700 with this range reflecting differences in candidate knowledge, skills and experience.
