[Hiring] Communications Operations Director – Content @BECU

Role Description

In this role, you’ll shape how BECU connects with employees, leaders, and members through meaningful, strategic content and programming. You’ll drive the execution of high-impact communications across internal and external events, ensuring every interaction reinforces BECU’s brand, culture, and business priorities. By building strong cross-functional partnerships and leveraging data-driven insights, your work will influence engagement, alignment, and trust across the organization. Your leadership will elevate BECU’s internal reputation while supporting enterprise-wide strategies. Ultimately, you’ll help ensure communications don’t just inform—but inspire and move the business forward.

What You’ll Do

• Strategic Content Leadership: Lead the management and execution of strategic content streams for BECU’s internal and external meetings and events.
• Engagement & Programming Ecosystems: Design and manage communications and engagement ecosystems that support strategic programming.
• Cross-Functional Communication Alignment: Partner closely with internal and external communications teams to ensure aligned messaging.
• Executive & Leader Partnership: Build trusted relationships with executives and organizational leaders.
• Data-Driven Strategy & Insights: Apply a strong analytical mindset to ensure content and programming solve real business problems.
• Communications Expertise & Innovation: Maintain deep, evolving expertise in communications, events, and engagement strategies.
• Agency & Vendor Management: Oversee external agencies, vendors, and freelancers as needed.
• People Strategy Alignment: Collaborate closely with the People team and Chief People Officer.
• Organizational Knowledge & Culture Stewardship: Bring a strong understanding of BECU’s culture and strategic priorities.
• Process Documentation: Ensure written procedures are documented and maintained.
• Additional Contributions: Take on additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or equivalent work or educational experience required.
• 10 years of experience working in communications, employee engagement, or a related field.
• Occasional travel required.

• Proven experience developing and executing strategic communication and engagement programming required.
• Project management skills required.
• Advanced experience developing and using metrics, research, insights, and benchmarking to guide decisions required.
• Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional project teams required.
• Demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships and provide strategic counsel to executives required.
• Interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively communicate with executive leadership required.
• Effective leadership and negotiation skills required.
• Verbal and written skills to effectively communicate required.
