Role Description

Parsons is looking for an Associate Communications Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will support external communications, product marketing, media relations, content development, and marketing initiatives that advance business objectives across Parsons' Federal Solutions portfolio, with a primary focus on the Defense & Intelligence business unit.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and storyteller who enjoys working across multiple projects, collaborating with stakeholders, and translating complex technologies, products, and mission-focused solutions into clear, compelling content. This position is well-suited for a communications professional seeking to expand their experience in media relations, product communications, thought leadership, social media, and integrated marketing campaigns.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support external communications and marketing initiatives that align with Federal business priorities.
• Develop communications content and messaging that promotes Parsons' products, technologies, and solutions, including product launches, commercialization initiatives, marketing campaigns, customer engagements, and industry events.
• Draft and edit a variety of communications materials, including press releases, media pitches, executive talking points, fact sheets, articles, social media content, and marketing collateral.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and business leaders to develop content that highlights Parsons' capabilities, products, contract wins, and customer successes.
• Assist with media relations activities, including media monitoring, coverage reporting, and reporter engagement opportunities.
• Support the development of thought leadership content, including bylined articles, executive communications, speaking engagement materials, and industry-focused content.
• Support planning and execution of trade shows, conferences, and other external engagement activities.
• Track communications and marketing metrics and support reporting efforts.
• Monitor industry news, customer developments, and relevant media coverage to identify content and storytelling opportunities.
• Support special projects and other communications initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, English, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, product marketing, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical, business, or operational concepts into clear and engaging content.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Experience supporting communications campaigns, media relations activities, content development efforts, product marketing initiatives, or marketing programs.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple functions and levels of the organization.

Requirements

• Experience working for or with the federal government, defense industry, national security community, or technology sector.
• Knowledge of AP Style.
• Experience supporting product marketing, product launches, commercialization efforts, or customer engagement campaigns.
• Experience supporting social media, media relations, digital communications, or integrated marketing programs.
