Role Description

Splash is seeking a highly organized, curious, and ambitious Strategic Partnerships Officer to strengthen our global Development function and support the growth of high-value partnerships and philanthropy. This is a hands-on role spanning:

• Prospect research
• Partnership support
• Fundraising operations
• Data management
• Senior external engagement

Working closely with the Chief Partnerships & Development Officer and the global Development team, the postholder will help:

• Identify and understand prospective partners
• Prepare leaders for important conversations
• Keep our fundraising pipeline and systems accurate
• Ensure opportunities are followed through with discipline

Qualifications

• Approximately 2-4 years of relevant experience in fundraising, philanthropy, partnerships, business development, research, international development, consulting or a related field.
• Excellent research, analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to turn detailed information into concise, decision-useful briefings.
• Strong organizational and project-management skills, attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
• Confidence working with CRM systems, data, spreadsheets and digital research tools; Salesforce experience is helpful but not essential.
• Comfort working across teams, cultures and time zones, and with senior leaders and sensitive information.
• Commercial and political awareness, curiosity, sound judgement and a genuine interest in philanthropy, strategic partnerships and Splash's mission.
• Comfort using AI-enabled research and productivity tools, with the judgement to verify information and use them appropriately.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Requirements

• Research prospective funders, philanthropists, foundations, family offices, companies, multilaterals and other strategic partners, translating research into concise, actionable intelligence.
• Prepare prospect profiles, meeting histories, relationship summaries, talking points, key questions and briefing materials for the CPDO and Development team.
• Map networks, relationships and potential connectors, and monitor funding and philanthropic trends relevant to Splash's strategy.
• Coordinate follow-up from priority donor and partner meetings so that actions, responsibilities and next steps are captured and progressed.
• Support selected proposals, concept notes, donor reports, due diligence and partnership materials by coordinating inputs and documentation across teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely fundraising records across Salesforce and Asana, including prospects, opportunities, engagement, tasks, correspondence and next steps.
• Maintain data hygiene by completing routine deduplication, cleaning inconsistent fields, validating gift and opportunity records, and monitoring data quality across both systems.
• Log stewardship touch points and recognition history so that donor interactions and relationship knowledge are retained as institutional memory in Salesforce.
• Run basic Salesforce reports, prepare data extracts and pipeline materials, and flag relationships or opportunities where follow-up or intervention is required.
• Coordinate global pipeline reviews: gather updates, prepare materials, document decisions and next steps, assign actions and follow up on outstanding commitments.
• Support senior-level engagement with priority prospects and partners, ensuring leaders have the context, materials and information they need.
• Support Splash's use of major global and regional convenings such as UNGA, World Water Week, AVPN, Impact Europe and Skoll through attendee research, targeting, scheduling, briefing and follow-up.
• Maintain clear records of conversations and opportunities generated through events and help convert introductions into sustained relationships and qualified opportunities.
• Complete routine gift entry and support monthly revenue and gift reconciliation with the Director of Development Operations & Donor Relations and Finance.
• Maintain grant preparation and reporting calendars, tracking deadlines, responsibilities, required inputs, review stages and approvals.
• Maintain organized digital records and shared drives for donor correspondence, proposals, reports, agreements, amendments and due-diligence materials.
• Coordinate Development-team receipts, expenses, credit card reporting and invoices, maintaining clear records and following up on outstanding items.
• Provide general administrative and operational support that keeps the Development function running smoothly.
• Support the cultivation and stewardship of selected prospective and existing partners and participate in donor and partner meetings where appropriate.
• Over time, support selected early-stage relationships and opportunities with increasing independence under the guidance of Development leadership.

Benefits

• Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000.
• Salaries and benefits for different countries will vary in line with the location of the successful candidate and depending on experience.
