[Hiring] Head of Business Development @Manta Cares

Role Description

The Head of Business Development for Pharma/Life Sciences at Manta Cares is a senior, pharma-fluent dealmaker responsible for building and closing co-developed pharma partnerships. You will report directly to the CEO and serve as the commercial point person with Life Sciences. This role involves:

• Owning the Pharma/Life Science pipeline end to end: source, qualify, pitch, structure, close, and renew biopharma accounts.
• Carrying the number: owning signed bookings against the revenue plan.
• Running the sales cycle: navigating medical-affairs, brand, and market-access buyers, plus procurement, MLR/PRC, and legal.
• Building the value narrative: creating the pitch, the value story, and the proof points.
• Partnering cross-functionally: working with data and AI on unit economics and proof, and with delivery to ensure signed deals actually ship.

Qualifications

• Life Science fluency (12+ years) in commercial or medical affairs, or at a vendor that sells into pharma (RWD, diagnostics/biopharma, eClinical, CRO, point-of-care).
• Live buyer relationships: active, warm relationships with decision-makers at the VP/Sr-Director level.
• A personal closing track record: experience in closing consultative six-to-seven-figure deals.
• Quota DNA: experience in personally carrying and hitting a bookings quota.
• Startup-stage adaptability: ability to operate without a built-out commercial org, marketing engine, or sales-ops.
• Location: East Coast based, or willing to travel extensively.

Requirements

• Experience selling a data or engagement asset (RWD licensing, patient engagement/point-of-care, or diagnostics-biopharma).
• Deep oncology and precision-medicine relationships specifically.
• Experience standing up a commercial function from scratch (0-to-1).
• Channel or partnership dealmaking experience.
• A personal or mission connection to cancer and patients.

Benefits

• Base salary: $200,000+
• On-target earnings: $285,000 - $315,000 (variable paid on booked/collected revenue, with a ramped quota and non-recoverable draw to protect the ramp).
