[Hiring] French speaking business Developer/Trader - Food & Protein Commodities @Danfond Global

Role Description

Danfond Global is looking for a commercially driven profile to buy, sell and develop business within frozen protein, dry commodity, beverages, chilled/perishables and to develop new business within this scope.

You will work closely with the Head of Sales and experienced colleagues – and take responsibility based on your level and drive.

• Trade products within our core business areas
• Develop relationships with customers across Africa
• Develop markets
• Negotiate prices, terms, and margins
• Follow deals from first contact to delivery and payment
• Contribute to ongoing business and identify opportunities

This is a hands-on commercial role in a market where timing, margins, and execution matter. Travel: approx. 40 days per year.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial understanding – or a clear drive to develop it
• You have a strong commercial instinct and a deal-driven mindset
• Fluent French and English
• You take ownership and follow things through in a timely manner
• You are comfortable with using latest IT developments including AI
• You have a client base, ready to buy
• You are not only willing to travel to West Africa markets, but love doing so
• Experience with meat, food products, fruit, beverages
• Experienced in B2B sales, trading, within food or commodities, exports, cross trades
• You understand risk management and margin discipline in this make or break industry
• You are well travelled to West African destinations
