Role Description

Wirecutter is looking for a strategic and operationally oriented partnerships leader who is passionate about driving performance-based results that provide the best buying experience on Wirecutter Picks. The Director, Commerce Partnerships reports directly to the Executive Director, Commerce and is the team leader responsible for business development, partnerships and affiliate operations. You will emphasize building career development plans through active mentorship of the team, and working across the organization to achieve our goals and priorities. This role is open to remote hiring. This is a temporary role running from September 2026 - May 2027.

• Oversee the strategic development of Wirecutter’s affiliate revenue growth strategies to meet EPC targets and diversification goals, and manage important strategic partners.
• Stay up to date with industry insights to advise the Executive Director in identifying opportunities that impact revenue growth strategy and goals.
• Partner with Data Insights, Product, and Editorial leadership to identify and implement action plans against headwinds and growth opportunities.
• Serve as the strategic and operational partner to the Deputy Editors around coverage of tentpole moments and sale events.
• Foster Wirecutter’s relationships across agencies and networks and further our status as the gold standard in commerce content.
• Partner with the Executive Director to implement career development plans and mentor direct reports to develop and retain a high-performance team.
• Attend affiliate conferences throughout the year.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience with an emphasis on client services, business development and/or partnerships.
• 4+ years experience in a business facing affiliate marketing role is required.
• A track record for growing revenue targets and implementing new revenue strategies valued at a minimum of 8 figures, with experience in financial management e.g. forecasting against goals and budgets, revenue growth, and profitability.

Requirements

• Strong relationships with merchant, agency, and network partners in the affiliate space.
• Proficient knowledge of attribution models and tracking methodologies across device types and the major affiliate networks.
• Experience communicating with and presenting to senior executives, and translating company priorities into actionable goals for teams.
• Demonstrated history fostering and sustaining a diverse and inclusive team; expertise in mentorship and team leadership.

Benefits

• The hourly rate of base pay for this role is: $85 — $85 USD.
