[Hiring] Business Development Representative @The Descartes

Role Description

We are looking for an innovative, driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you will:

• Qualify inbound inquiries
• Drive event attendance
• Generate outbound leads
• Build relationships with prospects to present solutions that address their pain points

Your efforts will directly contribute to sales growth and business expansion. You’ll thrive if you are curious, eager to learn (coachable), add business value, and build strong relationships with prospects and customers. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing remote team.

Qualifications

• Proven success in lead generation or sales, exceeding your quota and measurably growing your business
• Experience applying multiple sales techniques and approaches, including cold calls, email campaigns, and networking opportunities
• Comfortable using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics) and MS Excel
• Strong communication skills and experience overcoming objections
• Ability to gain trust and influence decision-makers
• Motivated to succeed and open to feedback, change, and learning from those around you

Requirements

• This remote opportunity is open to applicants authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada
• Experience finding hidden and not-so-hidden prospects, pursuing leads, and making connections

Benefits

• Base salary of $50,000 to $55,000 USD, plus uncapped sales commission
• On Target Earnings (OTE) between $70,000 and $75,000 USD
