Role Description

As Business Development Director, you combine three capabilities:

  • Strategic consulting which helps clients buy the right professional services product in the right way.
  • Understanding AI’s role in service delivery.
  • Entrepreneurial drive in building a hyper-scaling business.

You challenge how your clients source, deliver, and scale professional services, demonstrating why the Vico model is structurally superior. You operate as a trusted advisor at C-level, translating Vicoland’s platform and AI capabilities into client-specific value scenarios.

You join our leadership team with end-to-end accountability, supervising the Vicos serving your clients and acting as an entrepreneur leading entrepreneurs.

Tasks

  • Shape the market:
    • Position Vicoland with enterprise clients as the strategic alternative to traditional professional services models.
    • Question established sourcing models and demonstrate why Vicos deliver better outcomes.
    • Plan and implement mixed human/AI offers by Vicos.
    • Develop go-to-market strategies tailored to specific client contexts.
    • Build thought leadership through events and LinkedIn presence.
  • Win and grow clients:
    • Develop and own a portfolio of enterprise clients and partners.
    • Conduct consultative, insight-driven conversations at C-level.
    • Identify cross- and upsell opportunities with a founder’s mindset.
  • Lead Vicos in delivery:
    • Supervise and coach Vico Leads in your client group.
    • Activate new Vico Leads and set them up for success.
    • Step in when needed to protect client relationships.
  • Drive AI into Business Development:
    • Integrate Vicoland’s AI and agentic capabilities into client conversations.
    • Use AI tools actively in your own work and contribute to the evolution of AI-powered Vico members.
  • Shape the company:
    • Contribute to Vicoland’s strategy as a member of the leadership team.
    • Bring market intelligence, client feedback, and competitive insight into the organization.
    • Help define how we scale – processes, tools, talent, culture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in professional services – e.g. in consulting, system integration, or in sales roles for complex products.
  • Consultative selling capacity: you can win complex enterprise deals by advising, not pitching.
  • Challenger mindset: you shape how clients and the market think about professional services sourcing.
  • AI-affinity: you actively use AI tools and understand the strategic implications of agentic AI for professional services.
  • Entrepreneurial energy – drawn to building markets, not administering existing ones.
  • Experience leading teams or practices – you have managed people, not just projects.
  • Strong academic background, fast career progression, proven commercial impact.
  • Fluent in German and English (DACH is our home market, while we expand internationally).
  • Network power: you have and build valuable relationships easily.
