[Hiring] Applied AI Architect @SnapLogic

Role Description

We are seeking a high-agency, entrepreneurial Applied AI Architect for a time-bounded fractional contract engagement. Your mandate is to take this new product to market, prove its value in high-stakes production environments, and build the business case for our next phase of scale and investment.

You will sit at the tip of the spear - working the room with executive buyers, the terminal with customer engineering teams, and the stage in front of the market as this category is defined in real-time. Approaching the role with a hunter mindset in ambiguity, you will step into unstructured, high-stakes environments and leave with scalable architectures that customer leadership champions.

This is a hands-on, high-impact contract role. Regular travel to customer sites (up to 50%) is expected for initial discovery workshops and prototyping sprints where being in the room accelerates trust and progress.

What You'll Do

• Lead Executive Engagements: Command the room during discovery and scoping with VP and C-level stakeholders, translating technical capabilities into sharp business impact for CIO/CTO audiences.
• Deploy into Complex Environments: Own the end-to-end technical rollout into customer VPCs, on-prem Docker hosts, and firewalled networks. Resolve the critical blockers (SSO, enterprise OAuth, egress policies) that typically derail pilots.
• Build the Context Layer: Move beyond surface-level demos by engineering data connectivity (via Model Context Protocol / MCP) and context layers, ensuring the AI agent is genuinely usable, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Drive Footprint Expansion: Identify adjacent business functions and high-value use cases, turning initial team beachheads into account expansion and undeniable ROI.
• Shape the GTM Narrative: Represent SnapLogic’s agentic AI point of view in briefings and competitive situations, codifying field wins into repeatable playbooks for the GTM team.
• Feed the Product Loop: Partner directly with our core engineering team building on the Claude Agent SDK—bringing field realities, edge cases, and customer needs straight back into the product roadmap.

Qualifications

• Fractional & Independent Consulting Appetite: You excel in zero-to-one, time-bounded engagements where success is measured by rapid execution, proving a commercial business case, and leaving behind repeatable frameworks.
• Executive Commercial Presence: Exceptional poise, clarity, and the ability to confidently navigate live pushback from senior enterprise executives.
• Hunter Instinct in Ambiguity: You create momentum without a preset playbook, comfortable taking small, calculated bets to earn buy-in from scratch.
• Enterprise AI Judgment: You easily distinguish valuable business use cases from "AI theater," bringing deep understanding of both technical realities and commercial tradeoffs.
• Deep Technical Range: 5+ years of hands-on experience across Linux, Docker, networking, major clouds, and enterprise SSO/OAuth—with enough depth to earn immediate credibility with a customer's senior engineers.
• Production-Minded LLM Experience: Hands-on experience building or deploying production systems powered by LLMs or AI agents beyond weekend prototypes.
• Mentorship Instinct: A drive to teach client teams, empower internal champions, and document scalable runbooks so adoption continues long after your engagement ends.

Requirements

• $100 - $120 an hour
• Initial fractional / project-based engagement with flexible scheduling built around key client deployment milestones and on-site workshops.
• If the market shows strong signals and the business case is proven, further investment will be reviewed, including the potential to extend the contract or convert this to a full-time role.
