[Hiring] AI Enablement Engineer @Enroute

Role Description

We are looking for a forward-thinking AI Enablement Engineer to accelerate our engineering teams by integrating cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence into our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). In this role, you will be the resident AI expert, responsible for:

• Identifying, implementing, and optimizing AI tools, scripts, and custom harnesses to improve developer productivity.
• Evaluating different Large Language Models (LLMs) based on their strengths and weaknesses.
• Building custom chatbots.
• Implementing the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to seamlessly connect our internal data with AI assistants.

The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about AI—using it extensively in their personal and professional life—and possesses the scripting expertise necessary to build robust integrations and monitor AI usage across the organization.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and how to augment it with AI.
• Deep architectural understanding of different AI models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source), including their specific strengths, weaknesses, and context window limitations.
• Strong scripting and programming skills (Python, Bash).
• Experience building and deploying custom AI harnesses, chatbots, and wrapper APIs.
• Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect AI models with local or enterprise data sources.
• Experience implementing telemetry and monitoring for AI usage (tracking API costs, latency, and effectiveness).

Requirements

• Hands-on experience rolling out and managing AI coding assistants like GitHub, Copilot or Claude within enterprise teams.
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).
• Knowledge of data privacy and security best practices when sending enterprise data to external AI providers.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and determine the most effective AI tools and models for specific engineering challenges across the SDLC.
• Design, script, and deploy custom AI harnesses, internal chatbots, and integrations using the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Monitor and analyze enterprise AI usage, optimizing for cost, performance, and accuracy.
• Act as an internal evangelist and educator, training engineering teams on when, where, and how to effectively write prompts and leverage AI tools in their daily workflows.
• Maintain a high level of continuous learning to stay ahead of the rapidly evolving AI landscape and bring the best external innovations internal.
