[Hiring] AI Controls Solutions Engineer @Phaidra

Role Description

As an AI Controls Solutions Engineer, you'll play a critical role in operationalizing and scaling Phaidra's solutions for enterprise data center customers.

Responsibilities include:

• Working closely with Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and Data Scientists (DSs) as the technical experts for Phaidra's customers.
• Using Phaidra’s products and knowledge of customer needs to create a model of the facility for ingestion by our product lineup.
• Commissioning and tuning products and assisting in analyzing and triaging systems in the support phase.
• Identifying and defining product requirements based on customer specifications and needs.
• Providing ongoing support of deployed products, including support issue resolution and performance monitoring.
• Leading the deployment and support of multiple solutions, including resolving onboarding or support tickets.
• Acting as an internal and customer-facing SME on various initiatives, including delivering platinum support to customers.

*This role can include 25% travel.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of work experience as a controls engineer, programmer, or equivalent.
• Expertise in HVAC and Data Center cooling control methodologies and strategies.
• Understanding of applied thermodynamics for cooling systems, refrigeration systems, and hydronics.
• Experience in controls design engineering or strong working knowledge of industrial and commercial control systems and protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
• Understanding the applications and control strategies of air side chilled water and direct expansion cooling systems.
• Strong proficiency in working with data center operations teams.
• Experience programming control systems with PLC, ladder logic, text, or block programming languages.
• Passion for problem solving and using scalable solutions.
• Good educational background in related disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Control Theory.
• Ability to read and write Python scripts for implementing Phaidra's AI development tool.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-domain experts.
• Ability to manage large sections of documentation and foster high standards in communication.
• Ability to understand customers and drive a culture of customer satisfaction.
• Supports peers and helps them improve their work.
• Independently uses AI tools to improve workflows.

• Experience with rapidly prototyping new technologies and converting them into commercially viable products.
• Experience building, owning, and operating your own codebases/services.
• Experience architecting services within cloud platforms.
• Experience applying AI and ML in controls applications.
• Experience with statistics and analytics.
• Familiarity with markup languages like XML, JSON, or YAML.
