Role Description

The Workforce Pathways Professional – Tribal Engagement & Knowledge Management Coordinator will develop tools, resources, and communication processes that strengthen how the Washington State Department of Health partners with Tribes, Tribal communities, and Tribal organizations. This role combines project coordination, research, communications, information management, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain a knowledge management system that organizes Tribal partner information, engagement resources, and organizational data.
  • Research, analyze, and maintain information about Tribal governments, Tribal organizations, health clinics, and other partner organizations to support engagement planning and collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint resources, engagement tracking tools, dashboards, and GIS-enabled maps that improve information sharing and support strategic outreach.
  • Create and manage a monthly external newsletter by coordinating content, writing and editing communications, and establishing sustainable publication processes.
  • Develop guidance documents, standard operating procedures, and a culturally appropriate photo library that supports consistent communications and long-term knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with Tribal partners, program staff, GIS specialists, IT staff, and other stakeholders to ensure information is accurate, accessible, and useful.
  • Produce reports, maps, and visual summaries that support engagement planning, organizational coordination, and informed decision making.
  • Document project outcomes, present progress updates, and contribute recommendations that support continuous improvement within the Workforce Pathways Program.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience working in a public health, health services, Tribal, or community-based program supporting community engagement, partner outreach, communications, information management, or related program activities.
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, health communications, public administration, community health, business administration, or a closely related field.

Requirements

  • Experience working with or supporting communities underserved by public health systems, including Tribal Nations, Tribal organizations, communities of color, people with disabilities, immigrant and refugee communities, or other historically underserved populations.
  • Experience supporting Tribal engagement, community partnerships, or relationship building with external partners.
  • Experience developing written communications, educational materials, newsletters, reports, or other content that is accessible to individuals with disabilities and people with limited English proficiency.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse partners, such as community organizations, Tribal partners, government agencies, healthcare organizations, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of public health issues, health disparities, or social factors that affect Tribal communities and other historically underserved populations.
  • Experience researching, organizing, and maintaining program, partner, or organizational information using databases, SharePoint, or similar information management systems.
  • Experience coordinating projects involving multiple invested partners while maintaining accurate documentation and meeting established timelines.
