[Hiring] Wildlife Economy Research Intern @ALU

Role Description

The School of Wildlife Conservation is working on an exciting research project that examines the scale and potential of the wildlife economy in Africa. As part of the project, the SOWC is developing various country case studies on the current status of the wildlife economy, its potential, and the existing associated regulatory frameworks.

The research intern will support the SOWC team in:

• Collecting, collating, analysing, and reporting on data from various African countries, databases, and literature.
• Contributing to the relevant country case studies and related reports.

The candidate needs to have a good working knowledge of:

• Excel (other statistics programmes would be an advantage).
• Word.

Additionally, good research, writing, and presenting skills are required.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail.
• Good time management.
• Very organised.
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and Google Docs.
• Data analysis, cleaning, and visualisation skills.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Design experience and knowledge to develop social media products related to the research.
• A good knowledge of French and/or Portuguese (reading and writing) would be an advantage, though not required.
• Conservation knowledge and experience is required.

Requirements

• Part-time intern.
• Working time: 20 hours a week.
• Location: Remote.
