[Hiring] Virtualization Engineer @Skaylink

Role Description

You'll manage and optimize secure VMware and Hyper-V platforms, improve data center infrastructure, and collaborate with expert teams on impactful IT projects. This role is remote within Romania. If you are based in Cluj-Napoca, you also have the option to work from our office in a hybrid setup.

What you will do:

• Design, operate, and optimize Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere/ESXi clusters.
• Plan and implement high-availability solutions and live migrations.
• Analyze and optimize the capacity and performance of CPU, memory, storage, and network resources.
• Perform maintenance, patching, and upgrades, and support infrastructure migrations and hardware refresh projects.
• Analyze and resolve hypervisor-level issues with a focus on long-term stability.
• Create and maintain documentation, standards, and runbooks.

Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows Server.
• Strong expertise in VMware vSphere/ESXi.
• A good understanding of data center architectures, including SAN, storage, networking, and backup concepts.
• Proficiency in PowerShell.
• A structured, analytical approach to work, with the ability to remain solution-oriented when troubleshooting complex issues.
• Fluency in English and German.

• Nice to have: Proxmox, Xen/XCP-ng, Automation, Monitoring solutions, Veeam, Linux.
