Role Description

HBK Engineering is seeking a Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Team Lead to support multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams throughout the design and build lifecycle. This position is fully Remote.

We're ideally looking for a highly motivated VDC professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about advancing digital construction workflows.

As a VDC Team Lead, you will:

• Lead VDC efforts across civil, structural, MEP, and land surveying disciplines during design and construction phases
• Develop, implement, and maintain VDC standards, workflows, and best practices
• Oversee model creation, clash detection, and coordination using industry-leading software
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure alignment between digital models and real-world conditions
• Support construction sequencing, visualization, and digital field layout processes
• Mentor and guide VDC specialists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
• Coordinate with external stakeholders, contractors, and clients to ensure model accuracy and project alignment
• Provide quality control reviews of models, drawings, and deliverables
• Assist in evaluating and implementing emerging VDC technologies and tools

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of VDC experience supporting engineering or construction projects
• Demonstrated experience leading VDC coordination efforts across multiple disciplines
• Proficiency with tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, BIM 360 / ACC, or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of construction processes, engineering design workflows, and digital collaboration
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Requirements

• Experience supporting datacenter design or construction projects (Preferred)
• Familiarity with laser scanning, reality capture, or advanced visualization tools (Preferred)
• Experience integrating survey data into VDC workflows (Preferred)
• Prior experience mentoring or managing VDC staff (Preferred)
