[Hiring] Vice President, Enterprise Strategy and External Affairs @Assets Under Movement

Role Description

The Vice President of Enterprise Strategy and External Affairs (VP) will support the development and execution of AUM+’s External Affairs division, strengthening how AUM+ connects its strategy, external relationships, growth, communications, and emerging opportunities in service of the organization’s mission and impact.

• Serve as a senior strategist and builder-leader with expertise across external affairs, strategic communications, public affairs and advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management.
• Translate the Chief Strategy Officer’s vision for External Affairs and Strategy into clear priorities and a phased work plan with measurable outcomes, clear deliverables, and timelines.
• Help strengthen AUM+’s enterprise strategy capability and build the External Affairs division.
• Ensure complex opportunities reach decision-makers with a clear understanding of their mission value, potential impact, organizational implications, and recommended path forward.
• Support the CSO with the development of an integrated External Affairs approach that connects external relationships, strategic partnerships, narrative, visibility, growth priorities, and emerging initiatives.

Qualifications

• Twelve or more years of progressively responsible experience in philanthropy, social impact, movement infrastructure, or another complex and evolving environment.
• Eight or more years of meaningful senior-level leadership experience.
• Proven track record contributing to cross-functional strategic planning or similarly complex organizational strategy processes.
• Experience building or significantly shaping a team, function, initiative, or organizational capability.
• Deep understanding of the philanthropic and social impact sector.
• Strong strategic communications and narrative development skills.
• Commitment to racial, economic, environmental, and social justice.

Requirements

• Ability to collaborate across internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience evaluating or developing complex partnerships, funds, programs, or services.
• Strong judgment and discretion when navigating complex stakeholders.
• Ability to lead through influence across functions and levels.
• Experience with impact investing or other mission-aligned capital strategies is a plus.

Benefits

• Salary band: $238,000 – $280,000 commensurate with experience.
