Role Description

We are seeking a senior-level, leadership-oriented Remote Truss Design Manager to guide and support a talented team of remote designers for an established component manufacturer. This role is 100% remote, with a preference for candidates located in the Eastern or Central time zones to effectively coordinate with our sales and manufacturing divisions.

The ideal candidate blends elite technical expertise in component design with a process-oriented, coaching-centric leadership style. You will be responsible for ensuring design quality, optimizing team workflows, and acting as a critical bridge between design, sales, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate, prioritize, and assign design workloads to a remote team to ensure optimal production efficiency.
• Review team designs for structural accuracy, optimization, and production readiness.
• Mentor, coach, and provide constructive feedback to designers to elevate overall team performance.
• Manage and streamline design workflows utilizing component management software.
• Provide robust technical support to sales teams and internal operations.
• Assist with pricing, estimating, and material cost evaluations as needed.

Qualifications

• Senior-level truss design background with previous experience leading, managing, or mentoring design teams.
• High level of proficiency in MiTek Structure and MiTek Management.
• Strong, organized, and process-driven leadership presence.
• Effective communicator who is respected by peers and capable of managing a demanding, high-volume sales environment.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, a collaborative spirit, and a deep understanding of single-family and custom residential component manufacturing.
