[Hiring] Transportation Policy Analyst @Stand Together

Role Description

The Transportation Policy Analyst will work with the transportation team to provide policy research and data-driven analyses in support of our efforts in creating sound transportation policy. The position involves:

• Researching, summarizing, and analyzing transportation policy with a focus on state government.
• Researching and writing commentaries, op-eds, policy briefs, and policy studies.
• Assisting with collecting, combining, and modeling spreadsheets and datasets.
• Collaborating as a team player who is quantitatively oriented, resourceful, and detail-oriented.

In-office in Los Angeles or Washington, DC, or Virtual Anywhere in the US.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of or ability to rapidly learn data analysis and data visualization applications such as R, Shiny Apps, and Tableau is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-experts.
• Working knowledge of state legislative processes and practices.
• Curiosity and self-motivation to learn new things and tackle difficult technical problems.
• General alignment with Reason Foundation’s mission to advance a free society by developing, applying, and promoting libertarian principles.

Requirements

• Travel and attendance to a few conferences per year are expected.
• Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 a year.
