Role Description

The Compliance team at Binance is paramount in ensuring strict adherence to all regulatory requirements and upholding the highest standards of integrity. This role involves:

  • Managing the global onchain and offchain transaction monitoring operations team, ensuring effective day-to-day operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiency
  • Overseeing and managing global operational activities across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and providing subject matter expertise to business units and local MLROs
  • Mentoring, coaching, and developing team members, fostering a high-performing environment across all regions
  • Delivering briefings and escalations to senior management on compliance-related topics on a regular basis
  • Taking ownership of specific cross-functional projects to improve transaction monitoring capabilities and mitigate the company's risk exposure, in alignment with the business strategy
  • Closely monitoring productivity levels of the team, ensuring investigations are within SLA
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders across different levels of the organization, ensuring clarity on compliance initiatives and progress toward regulatory goals
  • Developing and presenting regular reports, metrics, and analyses to facilitate data-driven decision-making, addressing critical issues related to compliance, risk, and business operations
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements within the transaction monitoring program, enhancing the overall effectiveness of compliance controls and monitoring practices
  • Contributing to the continuous enhancement of control validation processes to ensure they meet the required regulatory standards and compliance expectations
  • Actively supporting in driving compliance culture and increasing the awareness of compliance responsibilities throughout the organization and the broader TM team
  • Building strong working relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of compliance activities and effective responses to regulatory reports or audits
  • Assisting in the development and execution of corrective actions and issue tracking in accordance with established policies and best practices
  • Staying informed on the latest regulations and emerging risks, particularly in the virtual currency space, and contributing to updating compliance processes accordingly
  • Supervising work products produced by the team, identifying issues or risks early and taking corrective actions on a timely basis
  • Utilizing compliance applications and systems such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, case management systems, and MIS reporting tools effectively

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years experience working in a compliance role with 5 years leading a global Transaction Monitoring team
  • Crypto on-chain monitoring experience a plus
  • Proven experience and knowledge in AML regulations, criminal typologies, audit/exam management, operational leadership
  • Strong technical communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex topics to non-expert audiences and ability to liaise with and influence stakeholders across the organisation
  • Professional certifications are a plus: i.e. CAMS, CFE, etc

Requirements
