Role Description
QS4QS is excited to offer a position for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor who is eager to develop their skills and knowledge in the construction industry. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to begin their career in quantity surveying. As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience and learning about various aspects of project management and cost control.
- Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction projects.
- Support the preparation of tender documents and the evaluation of bids from contractors and suppliers.
- Participate in site visits to gather data and report on project progress.
- Learn about managing project budgets and tracking costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to feasibility studies by collecting market data and analyzing costs.
- Help with the preparation of invoices and payment applications to clients and subcontractors.
- Gain hands-on experience with project management software and cost estimation tools.
- Collaborate with team members on various tasks to enhance learning and development.
- Stay updated with industry practices and regulatory requirements relevant to quantity surveying.
Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic knowledge of construction processes and materials is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Team-oriented attitude and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Previous internship or related experience in the construction industry is a plus but not required.
