RWS is looking for a Terminologist with a keen eye for detail and a solid experience in localization, linguistics, terminology, and translation to join our team in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.

Our client is a Fortune 100 company located on the US West Coast. In this role, the Terminologist will be responsible for developing and maintaining multilingual terminology assets on behalf of the client, as well as leading and coordinating terminology and linguistic-related requests with translation/language teams.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain multilingual and monolingual terminology assets, including terminology databases and style guides
• Identify key terms, define concepts, and document them accurately in terminology databases
• Maintain and curate a multilingual database of sensitive terminology, including profanities, non-inclusive language, culturally or geopolitically inappropriate terms, and legally sensitive terminology
• Lead and coordinate terminology and linguistic requests with translation/language teams
• Act as a point of contact for terminology-related questions and clarifications
• Contribute actively to process, quality, and system improvements
• Use the client’s proprietary terminology management and process management tools

Skills & Experience

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate as part of cross-functional and multicultural teams
• Strong research and analytical skills with linguistic and multicultural expertise
• Ability to meet work objectives efficiently and in a timely manner
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve terminology-related escalations and issues
• Very good organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks efficiently
• 3+ years’ of relevant professional experience, including localization and terminology management
• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Languages, Translation, or a related field
• Availability to support overlapping working hours between the USA and UK, including occasional coverage between 8:00 -10:00 A.M. as needed for meetings
• Languages: Native or near-native English proficiency required; additional language(s) strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft tools and terminology management databases
