[Hiring] Sustainability Metrics Governance Analyst @GE Vernova

Role Description

The Sustainability Metrics Governance Analyst is responsible for overseeing the data quality and assurance of sustainability metrics for GE Vernova. This individual will play a key role executing data quality processes, managing sustainability data workflows, and operationalizing reporting requirements across the enterprise.

This position works closely with the Sustainability Director and Executive Human Rights Counsel for GE Vernova and the Sustainability Controller, as well as the DT team, serving as the operational point of execution helping translate strategic data requirements into implementable solutions and workflows. This individual will support the overall data strategy, analytics priorities, and roadmap for AI integration for sustainability data.

This position will support the Corporate and business sustainability function and will also support the GE Vernova Sustainability team program owners in understanding their data, identifying gaps, driving continuous improvement and supporting implementation of state-of-the-art programs and operations to ensure highest quality data gathering, recordkeeping, and reporting. Additionally, this role will support deploying automation tools and helping bring strategic vision to life by working with business teams, AI experts, and Digital Technology teams to implement data quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field plus a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
• Master’s degree in relevant field plus a minimum of one year of relevant professional experience.
• Familiarity with GHG Protocol and other emerging frameworks (SEC, EU Taxonomy, CSRD).
• Direct experience in assessing completeness of sustainability data for voluntary and mandatory reporting.
• Able to work independently, while building effective relationships with business and functional partners.
• Strong project management, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Focused on and passionate about process improvement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint), as well as data and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, and R.
• Experience working with AI and machine learning concepts in data quality or reporting contexts and last mile reporting tools.
• Self-starter and strong work ethic.

Requirements

• Support the development and continuously improvement of GE Vernova’s sustainability data strategy and translate strategic sustainability goals into actionable data quality plans and execution steps.
• Support the rollout and execution of the Management Review Checklists (MRCs).
• Assist in the external audit process of GE Vernova’s ESG data for the Sustainability Report and regulatory filings.
• Execute and document periodic monitoring test work for a sample of critical sustainability KPIs.
• Work with Segment, Site and Functional leaders to resolve and document all identified issues arising from monitoring test work.
• Expand the monitoring program beyond GHG Emissions to other areas, potentially including Waste, Water and Circularity metrics.
• Support the development and implementation of AI-enhanced reporting capabilities, acting as a liaison between sustainability teams and AI/data science stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Business Unit Sustainability Leaders to ensure data quality for GHG reporting and other ESG metrics.
• Propose and implement initiatives to enhance data gathering, recordkeeping, and reporting.
• Review, analyze, and assess all data that is rolled-up at the GE Vernova level including Greenhouse (GHG) gas emissions, energy use, water, waste and other disclosed metrics.
• Support the sustainability data auditing process for both voluntary and mandatory reporting.
• Conduct gap assessments and manage gap closures related to sustainability data.
• Drive continuous improvement in data accuracy and governance through collaboration with business partners.
• Create project plans to ensure businesses are reporting on a regular basis on key sustainability metrics for progress assessment.
• Develop and support the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for sustainability data reporting, adhering to industry standards such as CSRD.
• Align with business partners to support data accuracy and governance to drive continuous improvements.
• Participate in GE Vernova Sustainability core team strategic planning meetings and execution of sustainability goals.
