Role Description

This role is remote working in the greater Salt Lake City, Utah area.

Responsible for the operation of the independent field office within specified territory (Full life cycle property claims handling, including field inspections).

Contact applicable parties, obtain recorded statements, explain the claim process, review coverage, investigate, and identify special investigation unit (fraudulent) indicators
Review facts of loss, details of coverage, and investigative needs to properly assess damages
Order police/fire reports, document claims files with the results of review and intention
Conduct field investigations, unless independent adjuster assignment is deemed to be in the best interest of both the client and company
Communicate, explain, and prepare estimates with detailed diagrams and reports
Negotiate with insureds, contractors, and vendors
Assess salvage/subrogation potential and monitor to conclusion
Complete risk evaluations for both underwriting and claims
Maintain ongoing contact with claimants, agents, attorneys, and internal clients regarding the status of claims files
Conclude claims in compliance with all state rules and regulations
Assist with claims handling in catastrophe (CAT) events which may include extended travel/overnight stays (Company CAT team will deploy first, field adjusters secondary-with notice)
Maintain continuing education (CE) courses for required state licensing

Qualifications

High school diploma
Five or more years of experience in insurance, construction or related field
State license and/or ability to obtain one

Requirements

The position involves considerable physical exertion, such as regular climbing of ladders, lifting of heavy objects (up to 80 pounds) on a highly frequent basis and/or assuming awkward positions for long periods of time
A person in this position is expected to make independent decisions in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
Full time remote position
Travel required

Preferences

Bachelor’s Degree
Property Claims Handling Experience
Field adjusting and estimating knowledge
Insurance designations such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Claims (AIC) or Senior Claim Law Associate (SCLA)
