Role Description

The Sr. Clinical Logistics Specialist oversees and manages all aspects of patient apheresis collection, shipment, processing, manufacturing release, and shipment of cryopreserved final investigational product from site and back to site. Additionally, this role will manage all central lab sample shipments and receipt from sample management, as well as vendor management and database updates for central laboratories, cold chain supply, and logistic couriers.

The ideal candidate can execute all roles of the Clinical Trial Specialist and provide backup or support as required for scheduling purposes. The role will resolve logistics issues, share feedback, and improve processes across the clinical supply chain.

• Oversee patient apheresis collection logistics, shipment, processing coordination, manufacturing release logistics, and shipment of cryopreserved final investigational product back to the clinical site.
• Monitor product journeys in real time across collection, transportation, manufacturing, release, and delivery.
• Book, coordinate, and track time-critical shipments.
• Manage central laboratory sample shipments and coordinate receipt with sample management teams.
• Manage logistics vendors, including central laboratories, cold chain suppliers, and couriers; maintain related databases and tracking records.
• Provide scheduling coverage and operational support.
• Serve as the site point of escalation for logistics matters; maintain site relationships and help resolve logistics issues.
• Coordinate manufacturing updates; collaborate with the Manufacturing team on its schedule and communicate clinical scheduling availability.
• Oversee central laboratory updates and biomarker sample management; serve as an escalation contact and manage vendor coordination.
• Oversee logistics data entry and tracking; keep information current, maintain templates and databases, and identify process improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in biopharmaceutical logistics, clinical supply chain, cell therapy operations, or a similarly regulated environment.
• Experience coordinating time-sensitive shipments and managing multiple patient or product journeys simultaneously.
• Working knowledge of applicable GCP, GxP, and GMP requirements.
• Strong understanding of documentation, product traceability, and the identification and escalation of deviations.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize competing needs across timelines and time zones.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work flexible hours when patient schedules or time-sensitive shipments require it.
• Experience with autologous cell therapy and clinical trial logistics is preferred.
