Support Services of Virginia (SSVA) is seeking caring and committed individuals, couples, and families throughout Danville, Pittsylvania County, Chatham, Gretna, Halifax County, South Boston, South Hill, Clarksville, Boydton, Martinsville, Collinsville, Henry County, and nearby communities to become Sponsored Residential Providers.

This opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact by welcoming an adult with intellectual or developmental disabilities into your home. As a provider, you will help create a stable and encouraging living environment where individuals can:

• Build everyday skills
• Pursue personal goals
• Become more independent
• Develop connections within their communities

Compensation: Sponsored Residential Providers may earn approximately $48,000–$124,000 per year, depending on the level of support required by the individual or individuals served and applicable program funding. Compensation is paid biweekly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, comfortable, and supportive home environment
• Help an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities develop and maintain independence
• Provide assistance with everyday activities and personal goals
• Promote community participation, social connections, and meaningful relationships
• Collaborate with SSVA to find a suitable match that considers compatibility, interests, and lifestyle

How SSVA Supports You

• Free training required for the program
• Assistance with licensing and certification processes
• Continued guidance and support from an experienced team
• 24/7 access to on-call assistance
• Biweekly compensation

Qualifications

• Be 21 years old or older
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Be actively involved in their local community
• Have at least six months of personal or professional experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Be comfortable using technology and electronic documentation tools
• Possess effective written communication skills
