Role Description

The Southeastern North Carolina Healthy Start Program (Community Consortium) Coordinator for the Southeastern North Carolina Healthy Start (SENCHS) Program supports the implementation of required program deliverables by providing technical assistance and guidance to staff at two funded service sites. This role coordinates the SENCHS Community Consortium, which includes program participants and representatives from local health departments, community organizations, and community partners in Cumberland and Hoke Counties. It assesses local training needs and supports outreach, education, and case management activities that advance public health goals in the region.

The Southeastern North Carolina Healthy Start Program (Community Consortium) Coordinator position operates within the Women, Infant and Community Wellness Section and contributes to community health initiatives by fostering collaboration and supporting consistent program implementation. It ensures effective communication among partners and helps maintain program activities aligned with established objectives.

  • The candidate must live in either Cumberland or Hoke County.

Key Duties Include:

  • Implement SENCHS program deliverables by providing technical assistance and ongoing support to staff at funded service sites.
  • Coordinate the SENCHS Community Consortium by organizing participation from program members, local agencies, and community partners.
  • Assess training needs for local outreach, education, and case management staff and support the development of appropriate training activities.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among program sites, local health departments, and community-based organizations.
  • Monitor implementation of program activities to ensure alignment with SENCHS objectives and community health priorities.
  • Provide program-related guidance and resources to strengthen service delivery and improve participant engagement.
  • Support collection of information from local partners to assist in identifying community needs and opportunities for improved program coordination.
  • Maintain working relationships with partners across the Women, Infant and Community Health Branch to support consistent communication and service integration.
  • Participate in local meetings, collaborative activities, and community engagement events that support SENCHS goals.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of program activities to support tracking, coordination, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience providing technical assistance to local program staff, including coordinating activities that support outreach, education, and case management with intermediate to expert proficiency.
  • Proven skill coordinating multi-agency or community groups, including experience organizing consortium meetings, engaging diverse stakeholders, and sustaining collaborative partnerships across public health and community organizations.
  • Strong proficiency conducting training needs assessments, including collecting information from partner sites and aligning identified needs with appropriate staff development strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing program information by organizing written and electronic materials, preparing program-related documentation, and supporting implementation of procedures with advanced organizational skill.
  • Effective communication experience preparing written materials, delivering verbal guidance, and facilitating information exchange among internal teams, partner agencies, and community stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in the program related to the area of assignment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
