Role Description

At Neo4j, our Solution Engineers are pivotal to our company’s success. As a member of our regional go-to-market team, you will partner with our sales executives, working closely with clients to showcase how the Neo4j Graph Intelligence Platform addresses their critical business needs. Neo4j Solution Engineers play a central, hands-on role as clients consider and evaluate Neo4j technology, and support customers in an advisory capacity throughout their journey to value realization. SE’s work with organizations across industries such as Financial Services, Telecommunications, Technology and Life Sciences understand the business and technical value of representing data using Neo4j graph database and analytics technology. You will grow as a thought leader in graphs and solve our customers’ high-value problems beyond traditional data solutions.

What Success Looks Like

• Developing and honing subject matter expertise to effectively discern and understand the true needs of our customers.
• Presenting technology solutions that target customer needs and demonstrating thought leadership through platform and use case demonstrations, solution architecting, workshops, and conferences.
• Meeting and exceeding regional revenue goals by helping Sales to qualify and validate opportunities from a technical perspective.
• Collaborating effectively with Sales, Professional Services, Partners, Product Management, etc., to deliver continuous value to customers.

What You’ll Do

• Confidently articulate the business and technical value of Neo4j to customers and prospects.
• Actively drive and run the technology evaluation stage of the sales cycles.
• Manage day-to-day activities such as opportunity qualification, technical discovery, presentations, platform and use case demonstrations, proof of value, sizing, and documentation of technical decision criteria.
• Build and nurture rapport with customer stakeholders at all levels.
• Co-create reference and solution architectures with our customers.
• Stay current on latest Neo4j capabilities and integration with third-party tools and services.
• Distill and communicate customer needs and product feedback to relevant teams.
• Help drive demand through participation in account-based marketing events and industry conferences.
• Lead by example and foster an environment of teamwork, transparency, creativity, and continuous improvement.
• Travel as needed to assist in deal creation and closure.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of customer-facing experience in a similar capacity (Sales/Presales/Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant, etc.).
• Experience working with different data technologies in enterprise data architecture, data analytics, data science, or cloud data architecture.
• Familiarity with graph data technology is essential; working knowledge of Neo4j is a strong plus.
• Hands-on experience with relational (SQL) and/or NoSQL databases, and proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, C#).
• Successful track record in designing, developing, and implementing data solutions in the public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or on-premise.
• Ability to engage and communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Technical savviness and business acumen to translate technical concepts into valuable business outcomes.
• Passion for learning new technologies, especially graphs.
• An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to prioritize, pivot, and problem-solve.

Requirements

• The annual on target earnings range for this position based in the United States is $200,000 — $225,000 USD.
• US employees are eligible for a stock option grant and certain roles are eligible for an annual bonus.
• Employees in this position are also eligible to participate in the Company’s standard benefit programs, which currently include medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and certain leaves of absence.
