[Hiring] Solutions Engineer @VIAVI Solutions

Role Description

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for supporting and enabling sales on Viavi Fibre Optic and Metro-Ethernet instruments solutions in Central Europe sub-region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Benelux) according to the Central Europe sales plan. The Solutions Engineer will work closely with the sales team and selected channel partners, taking responsibility for high-level technical demonstrations of VIAVI product solutions in front of customers or at selected partner/Viavi events (technical seminars, webinars, and roadshows).

The individual will:

• Transfer product and related technology knowledge to the Sales team and Channel Partners.
• Be accountable for the bookings number of the related product portfolio in the region.
• Own account penetration in the related project or opportunity ecosystem.
• Drive issues to successful resolution within the wider “EMEA Solutions Engineer Team.”

Qualifications

• Telecom Science & Electronics Engineer diploma with Ethernet/IP and Fibre Optic expertise.
• Understanding of Metro-Ethernet and Fibre Optic technologies and testing.
• Proven experience in using/pre-sales technical support with major vendors and T&M equipment vendors.

Requirements

• Deliver high-level pre-sales technical support to customers in Central Europe on Viavi’s Fibre Optic and Metro-Ethernet instrument solutions.
• Work and respond to any RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs in collaboration with account managers.
• Deliver product, solutions, and technology presentations at targeted local roadshows/technical seminars and webinars.
• Self-motivated in penetrating opportunities and accounts for sales enablement.
• Deliver education and awareness of test and reporting methods and procedures to customers.
• Liaise with customers on instrument field trials or method and procure implementation.
• Help discover ecosystem trends and activities as well as optimize product positioning to capture sales.
• Provide feedback to the respective Business Units (Product Line Managers/R&D) to increase innovation.
• Share experiences and best practices across the EMEA Solutions Engineer team members.
• Transfer basics of product/technologies knowledge to Sales/Channel Partners during specific and regular training sessions.
• Actively participate in the monthly EMEA Solutions Engineer virtual meetings.
• Ensure quality of the pre-sales technical support to sales and channel partners.
• Measure progress, gaps, and recovery actions when needed.
• Be accountable for driving sales growth in the region as part of the technical support sales team.
• Travel Required: 50% all over Central-Europe.
