[Hiring] Senior Program Manager - Cybersecurity Incident Communications @Microsoft

Role Description

The Customer Security Management Office, which is part of the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO), is seeking a skilled and experienced Sr. Program Manager - Cybersecurity Incident Communications to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing and supporting customer-facing and other external communications related to cybersecurity incidents.

• Ensure that Microsoft can offer customers and partners critical details about security incidents.
• Help customers understand the scope and impact of cybersecurity issues.
• Prioritize competing, time-sensitive demands and manage diverse organizational stakeholders.
• Support a global team and focus on your role as a communications professional.

Responsibilities

• Be available/online outside of typical business hours/weekdays due to crisis management support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate and align messaging.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customer communications during cybersecurity incidents.
• Prepare executive talk tracks, FAQs, and other information for customer engagement.
• Track and manage the development of external-facing communications collateral.
• Draft, edit, and approve security incident communication contents.
• Document the end-to-end process of supporting and communicating with customers.
• Review content to ensure accuracy and consistency in all communications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in program management, digital content publishing/management, or a writing/editing role OR equivalent experience.

Requirements

• Must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
• Pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
• Provide proof of citizenship or U.S. permanent residency for access to export-controlled information.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in program management or communications OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years experience in cybersecurity, engineering, operations, product management, or technical program management.
• Experience in cross-functional project management or crisis management.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing communications for cybersecurity incidents.
• Ability to assess urgency and importance of requests and prioritize tasks.
• Efficiently manage time to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.

Benefits

• The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year.
• Different pay ranges applicable to specific work locations, such as USD $160,200 - $261,000 in the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
• Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
