[Hiring] Senior Network Architect @Akamai

The Network Architecture team is a highly skilled group of individuals that work on various technologies in building, configuring and maintaining network infrastructure in support of Akamai's global platform.

As a Senior Network Architect, you will be responsible for:

• Architecting, building and supporting solutions that foster efficient and streamlined processes
• Acting as an escalation point for operational, network, and managerial teams to ensure network and customer issues are resolved
• Working with vendors and internal organizations to build out large points of presence across the globe
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams on standards and processes for deployments and updating documentation accordingly
• Building/testing/designing automation tools (including Bash scripts, Python programs, Slack bots) and working closely with network developers
• Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of our network and application security products and quickly connecting attack vectors with existing/new detections

Qualifications

• 12 years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent experience
• Experience in managing and troubleshooting Juniper & Cisco Routers and Switches
• Working knowledge of virtualization, Linux/Unix systems and Python programming language
• Familiarity with building and deploying infrastructure that handles network traffic, distributed systems
• Demonstrated technical and commercial knowledge of Internet network topology and architecture, IP routing, and CDN platforms
• Highly organized self-starter who is comfortable working with cross-functional teams
