[Hiring] Senior Manager, Fund IRL State Coalition @Children's Funding Project

6d ago - Children's Funding Project is hiring a remote Senior Manager, Fund IRL State Coalition. 💸 Salary: usd 77,500 - 80,000 per year 📍Location: USA

Role Description

Children’s Funding Project is seeking a Senior Manager to support Fund IRL, a national coalition focused on ensuring that any funds resulting from social media litigation related to youth mental health harms are directed to young people and their well-being. This role will recruit and coordinate state coalitions, prepare state advocates for legislative and Attorney General (AG) engagement, and help drive policy action across states. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in state-level advocacy and coalition management, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work across a fast-moving, multi-stakeholder campaign. This new, full-time exempt position will report to the Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coalition Coordination
    • Support and provide technical assistance (TA) to cross-sector state coalitions.
    • Ensure coordination of national Fund IRL partner orgs to provide supports and TA for state coalitions.
    • Develop and distribute action alerts to mobilize coalition members around key campaign moments.
    • Maintain coalition engagement tracking systems to monitor participation and progress.
    • Ensure message discipline and consistency across coalition partners.
  • State Advocate Preparation
    • Work with the Fund IRL leadership team to develop and disseminate advocacy tools to state partners.
    • Conduct regular check-ins with state partners to surface their most pressing needs and uplift those findings with the Fund IRL leadership team.
    • Facilitate learning within and across states.
    • Track bill filings and policy movement across states.
    • Support advocates in developing and implementing youth engagement plans.
    • Prepare advocates for rapid response tied to settlement developments, as well as longer-term advocacy strategy related to social media litigation and securing funding for youth well-being.
  • Policy & Campaign Coordination
    • Align coalition actions with the broader AG and national partner engagement strategy.
    • Coordinate closely with Fund IRL’s communications firm to support campaign messaging and outreach.
    • Identify opportunities to rollout model “empty vessel” legislation in appropriate state contexts.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6–10 years of relevant experience in state-level advocacy, coalition coordination, or public policy related to children and youth.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing multi-stakeholder coalitions, including member engagement, working group facilitation, and message coordination.
  • Experience supporting state advocates, legislative champions, or community-based organizations in active advocacy campaigns.
  • Familiarity with legislative tracking and state policy processes; experience working across multiple states simultaneously preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft clear action alerts, advocacy materials, and stakeholder updates.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-moving campaign environment.
  • Experience working collaboratively with communications firms, legal teams, or other campaign consultants.
  • Deep commitment to the values of justice, equity, diversity, and belonging.
  • Comfortable with unfamiliar tasks and flexible in problem-solving, learning new skills, and embracing change.
  • Familiarity and comfort with common technology platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office 365, Google Suite, coalition management tools).
