Role Description

The Sr. Manager, Category Management, Channels is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and execution of category management initiatives across various retail accounts.

• Manage and grow relationships with key retail partners.
• Develop channel-specific category strategies that deliver profitable growth.
• Optimize product placement and assortments across distinct retail formats.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and executives across various accounts.
• Develop and implement category management strategies tailored to the distinct needs of each channel.
• Lead the creation and execution of category plans to drive sales, market share, and profitability.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for category management, collaborating on product assortment, pricing strategies, and promotional plans.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships and enhance category growth.
• Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration within the category management team.
• Provide thought leadership and mentorship to category managers and sales leads.
• Leverage customer-specific data platforms to inform growth strategies.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and make adjustments as needed.

Non-Essential Job Duties

• Attend store schematic tests or resets, club roadshows/demos, or other channel-specific retail events as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8+ years of experience in category management, syndicated data, insights, research, sales, or a related field.
• Proven track record in managing relationships with large retail accounts.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making.
• Extensive use of syndicated scan, panel, and loyalty card platforms.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong MS Office suite skills, Nielsen/IRI, space planning, and retailer data platforms.
• Excellent professional oral, written, and presentation communication skills in English.
• Attention to detail, self-motivated, and able to manage conflicting priorities.

Requirements

• Regular contact with category management team, sales leads, and key retailer contacts.
• Remote home office position with 10% to 20% travel for customer meetings.
• Occasional work in the evenings due to time zone variations.

Physical Demands

• Sitting/standing for extended periods of time.
• Light/heavy computer use and speaking on the telephone.
• Appear on video conference calls.
