Role Description

We are looking for a highly capable Senior Technical Claims Specialist to join our team and work from our Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Omaha, Richmond, Rockwood, or San Antonio office or remotely from anywhere in the US. We work together in the office five days a week in order to strengthen our culture, build team connections, and drive profitability. This role adjudicates our most complex Argo Re Professional Lines claims for our customers.

  • Adjudicate highly complex professional lines claims with limited oversight.
  • Conduct detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation.
  • Report to senior management and underwriters on claims trends and developments.
  • Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly.
  • Analyze claims forms, policies, and endorsements to determine coverage.
  • Manage claims in litigation.
  • Set claim reserves considering policy wordings.
  • Prepare reports for file documentation.
  • Negotiate complex settlement packages and authorize payments.
  • Process mail and prioritize workload.
  • Complete correspondence with various parties (insured, claimant, etc.).
  • Exhibit a passion for strong claim management.

Qualifications

  • A J. D. from an accredited university required.
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience adjudicating professional lines claims with exposure of $100,000 or more.
  • Good business acumen regarding how an insurance company operates.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong claim negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business-related software.
  • Ability to read and write English fluently.
  • Licensed Claims Examiner (based on state) with ability to obtain necessary licenses.
