Role Description

Harford Mutual is seeking a Senior Loss Control Representative to support the state of North Carolina and surrounding states as needed. The Senior Loss Control Representative will be responsible for conducting comprehensive, on-site Loss Control Surveys and Services for Harford Mutual’s client companies. This role involves completing surveys across all lines of business, including property, liability, workers' compensation, and auto, tailored to the specific coverages of each insured entity.

• Complete Loss Control surveys and services for current and prospective commercial accounts for all business units.
• Focus on hazard and exposure identification, safety program consultation, and providing recommendations to help mitigate loss potential and improve the overall quality of risk.
• Provide written survey reports, along with supporting data and information, for Underwriting review and assistance with risk selection and account retention efforts.
• Develop and implement risk improvement services for customers, including safety programs, consultation on identified hazards and exposures, and identifying resources and/or training to assist with mitigating loss potential.
• Participate in department projects throughout the year to broaden and grow your professional network and technical skillset.
• Territory is primarily NC with travel to surrounding states as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of experience in Loss Control or extensive experience in safety management or insurance industry.
• Experience in Habitational, Manufacturing, Contracting, and transportation industries.
• Experience identifying IH, Noise, Ergonomic Exposures and controls.
• Experience identifying and evaluating sprinkler systems and occupancies.
• Demonstrated understanding of building construction, electrical and plumbing standards, HVAC systems, sprinkler systems, and fire department operations; able to recognize hazards related to employee on-the-job injuries.
