Role Description

This position is term limited with an anticipated end date of approximately two years from the date of hire. This position is eligible for State employee benefits and may be extended as the situation warrants.

The Colorado Broadband Office (CBO) leads the statewide effort to expand broadband coverage and quality for all Coloradans and coordinates all broadband efforts for Colorado. As our new Senior Digital Inclusion & Access Program Specialist, you will have the chance to support the development, implementation, and administration of the Broadband Digital Inclusion program activities and functions and provide subject matter expertise to program staff, other agencies, the community, and program participants.

• Assist in building partnerships and coordinating activities related to broadband access and digital inclusion.
• Support the development of relationships with rural and underrepresented communities to advance digital inclusion and access goals.
• Assist in designing and coordinating community engagement strategies promoting digital inclusion and literacy.
• Assisting stakeholders in efforts to identify and overcome barriers to broadband deployment and adoption.
• Supporting the planning and implementation of digital inclusion and access programs, including data, metrics, and budgets.
• Support the implementation of CBO’s Advance Colorado Grant program which includes federal, state, and local broadband adoption funding.
• Monitoring and measuring implementation of broadband and digital inclusion and access plans.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five (5) years of professional or technical level experience planning and implementing the administrative aspects of a program(s) or comparable duties, to include previous experience coordinating digital inclusion and access efforts.
• Experience in digital inclusion and access, including technology education and training, or community development.

Requirements

• OIT candidates and employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state entity locations where they might be required to perform work.
• A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
• Positions supporting some agencies such as the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety will also require a pre-employment drug test.
• This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.
• This position may require on-call duties as needed by the position.
