[Hiring] Senior Behavioral Scientist @GuideWell

Role Description

We're looking for a Senior Behavioral Scientist who can translate evidence-based behavioral science into real business impact. In this role, you'll work directly with senior leadership and product teams to solve critical problems including:

• Increasing member engagement
• Improving health outcomes
• Driving smarter decision-making across the enterprise

You’ll design and lead research studies, analyze behavioral data, consult on and build interventions, and scale solutions that matter. This is ideal for someone who gets excited about both rigorous science and practical implementation, and who wants to help shape how a major healthcare organization thinks about and applies behavioral insights.

Qualifications

• 5+ years related work experience in behavioral science, experimental research, or related field
• Related Master’s Degree required
• Advanced degree (Master's minimum) in behavioral science, decision science, data science, experimental economics, psychology, social science, or related field
• Experience designing and conducting experiments in lab or field settings, including randomized controlled trials, A/B tests, and quasi-experimental designs
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including experience with statistical modeling, computational methods and using statistical / analytical tools (R, Python or equivalent)
• Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex research into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements

• PhD in a related field (preferred)
• Experience in one or more core industry sectors, preferably healthcare
• Demonstrated ability to balance multiple simultaneous projects and competing priorities
• Experience building organizational capability and training teams on behavioral methods
• A track record of seeing research through to implementation; you don't just publish findings, you help teams act on them
• Genuine intellectual curiosity about how and why people make the decisions they do
• Comfort working with senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups (clinicians, operations teams, product managers, executives)
• A collaborative mindset; you'll be working across teams, not in isolation
• The ability to balance scientific rigor with practical constraints and business realities
• A growth mindset and genuine interest in building new skills in data science, behavioral science, and technology

General Physical Demands

• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
• Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
• Must be able to occasionally travel to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences).

Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $109,300 - $136,600

Annualized Salary Range: $109,300 - $177,600

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
