[Hiring] Senior Advisor - Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services @Commence

Role Description

We are seeking a Sr. Advisor to guide the company’s strategy across CMS. The Sr. Advisor will:

• Advise leadership on the agency’s current strategies and direction, which could include:
  • Digital quality measurement and the transition to dQMs
  • Value-based care
  • Payment innovation
  • Medicare Advantage oversight and payment accuracy
  • Program integrity
  • Medicaid and marketplace integrity
  • The agency’s expanding use of AI
• Help set and guide the company’s vision for impactful approaches and solutions across CMS, grounded in the agency’s mission, priorities, and operational needs.
• Advise leadership on CMS strategy, including which centers, programs, and problem sets represent the strongest fit for Commence capabilities.
• Translate CMS policy direction, budget, rulemaking, and organizational change into concrete implications for the health and technology portfolio strategy.
• Guide development of white papers, RFI responses, and thought leadership that position Commence as a valuable contributor to agency priorities.
• Build and steward relationships across the CMS ecosystem, including research organizations and associations.
• Advise delivery leadership on client expectations and program stewardship so that performance on current work reinforces desired outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10 or more years in federal health care, including service at CMS in a senior leadership capacity such as center or office leadership, group or division direction, senior executive service, or an equivalent role.
• Deep working knowledge of CMS programs which could include:
  • Medicare
  • Medicaid
  • Medicare Advantage
  • Quality programs
  • Program integrity and payment innovation
• Advanced degree in public health, health policy, economics, public administration, law, or a related field preferred.
• Commence' headquarters are in Virginia Beach, VA, however we are open to remote candidates in the following states:
