Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Operations Team Lead to join our dynamic security team. As a Security Operations Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our security posture by:

• Leading a team of talented security engineers.
• Driving automation initiatives to optimize processes.
• Providing expert technical guidance during security incidents.

This role involves protecting our customers and our apps and infrastructure, as well as our employees. Knowledge of protecting customer-facing infrastructure and applications is advantageous. It’s an exciting fast-paced organization with low hierarchy, high collaboration, and ownership.

Key responsibilities include:

• Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive tasks within security run books.
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated security workflows.
• Collaborating with security engineers to integrate automation into existing processes.
• Leading technical security incident response efforts.
• Acting as a technical escalation point for complex security issues.
• Developing and maintaining incident response playbooks.
• Setting clear objectives and key results (OKRs) for the security operations team.
• Monitoring team performance and providing regular feedback.
• Fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
• Monitoring security tools and technologies.
• Leading threat hunts and developing new threat detection controls.
• Analyzing security logs and alerts to detect potential threats.
• Collaborating with other security teams to implement effective security controls.
• Staying abreast of emerging security threats and trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in security operations or a related field.
• Proven track record of leading technical security incident response efforts.
• Strong experience in automation tools and technologies (e.g., SOAR, Python, PowerShell).
• Experience in managing and developing a team of security professionals.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• In-depth knowledge of security principles and practices.
• Proficiency in common security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR).

Requirements

• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SANS GIAC are a plus.
