[Hiring] SecOps Engineer CoOp @Amplify

Role Description

This role involves helping build and integrate the tools that keep our systems and data secure as a SecOps Engineer CoOp.

• Provide top-level support for engineers building customer-facing applications.
• Help teams create compelling apps by designing tools, workflows, and culture to ship code frequently.
• Adopt and advocate for best practices to:
  • Help teams meet reliability and uptime challenges by integrating security into continuous integration.
  • Automate configuration and deployment.
  • Build data pipelines that respect privacy and ensure security while offering useful insights.
• Learn every day by:
  • Collaborating, pull requesting, and being mentored on a cross-functional team.
  • Participating in cross-team share-outs, brownbags, and workshop series.
• Contribute knowledge and ideas to the Information Security Committee for the development of policies, standards, and best practices.
• Improve and participate in security and regular incident processes.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS/MS in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of computer science and software engineering fundamentals.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Ability to work with a close-knit team.
• Ability to both give and receive constructive feedback.
• Strong communication skills.

Requirements

• Experience with at least one cloud service provider.
• Experience with tools used every day:
  • Build: Linux, Jenkins, Docker, Python, AWS
  • CodeBuild/CodePipeline
  • Storage: PostgreSQL, S3, DynamoDB
  • Deploy: AWS (ECS, EC2, Lambda, etc.), Terraform
  • Monitoring: Datadog
  • Security: BurpSuite
• Passion and talent for teaching fellow engineers and non-engineers.
• Passion for building and learning: open source contributions, pet projects, self-education, Stack Overflow.
• Experience in education or ed-tech.
