[Hiring] Rope Access Mechanical Technician II @Acuren Inspection, Inc.

Role Description

Acuren is seeking experienced Rope Access Mechanical Techs level I or II to support our operations through callout assignments at customer sites throughout the U.S. Northwest Region with emphasis in the PNW. Preference will be given to candidates with an NDT and/or mechanical trades certifications (NACE, NCCER, etc.). This position is an intermediate level position that is responsible for carrying out Rope Access Level I or II duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner as assigned by the Rope Access Level III Technician.

• Perform advanced rope access work at heights using established rope access techniques and systems while ensuring compliance in accordance with IRATA/SPRAT Level 2 standards.
• Plan and implement rope access systems for various work scenarios.
• Maintain rope access equipment and report any safety concerns.
• Demonstrate skills and knowledge of a Rope Access Technician Level 2.
• Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations and company safety procedures.
• Conduct specialized inspections and complete detailed work reports on results.
• Assist in rigging and rescue plans under the supervision of the Rope Access Level 3 Technician.
• Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplined and cross-functional trade specialists.
• Assist in identifying area and task-related hazards and communicating them to the Rope Access Level III Technician.
• Other work duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards and procedures.
• Physical capability to perform strenuous work at heights.
• Adaptable to changing schedules with willingness to travel regularly, including last minute and overnight travel.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to follow directions and procedures.
• Ability to show comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques.
• Proficiency in theoretical knowledge, equipment and rigging, maneuvers, climbing and rescue/hauling.
• Ability to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
• Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn and grow, with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Physically and mentally fit with a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Exceptional safety and quality awareness.
• Strong work ethic and dependable.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Ability to regularly work overtime.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Local candidates in the Commerce City / Denver, Colorado or US Northwest are preferred.
• Must be available to start on or before October 1, 2026.

Requirements

• Current SPRAT/IRATA Level 2 Rope Access Certification or ability to obtain.
• Minimum 1000 documented hours in a 12-month period for IRATA certification or 500 documented hours in a 12-month period for SPRAT certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent education required.
• Certified NDT (ANY LEVEL).
• Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections.
• Knowledge of NDT equipment.
• Experience in report writing preferred.
• NACE or NCCER certified preferred.
