Role Description

As a Romanian-English Video-Phone Interpreter, you will be responsible for handling calls on demand and rendering the meaning of conversations between Romanian and English speakers. This role involves:

• Breaking communication barriers across various industries, including Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Financial, Utilities, Travel & Hospitality, General Business, Law Enforcement, Court, and 911.
• Processing information quickly and concisely while recognizing sensitive cultural differences.
• Maintaining professionalism and courtesy at all times, using appropriate terminology and understanding common industry procedures.
• Conducting video and audio interpreting sessions that may involve simple or complex subjects.
• Working from a home-office in a quiet and secure environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Romanian and English, with an understanding of associated cultural dynamics.
• Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills for high accuracy during interpretation.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write the requested languages – highly preferred.

Requirements

• Dedicated personal device for business purposes (Desktop/Laptop with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS; Tablets and Smartphones are acceptable).
• High-speed Internet connection with specific speed requirements.
• Must have access to a quiet space free from background noise or distraction.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse and remain in a stationary position for most of the workday.
• Must use a headset for prolonged periods of time.
