Role Description

We are seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist I who is passionate about problem-solving, delivering outstanding customer service, and driving positive financial outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys investigating claim issues, resolving denials, communicating with payers and patients, and playing a key role in the revenue cycle process.

• Work accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement
• Research and resolve claim denials, payment discrepancies, and appeals
• Contact insurance companies to verify eligibility, benefits, and claim status
• Answer patient billing inquiries and provide exceptional customer support
• Assist patients with payment arrangements and account resolution
• Review and verify patient statements for accuracy
• Collaborate with internal teams, providers, payers, and patients to resolve billing issues
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies
• Prioritize multiple tasks while meeting productivity and quality expectations
• Contribute ideas and solutions that improve processes and support organizational success

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of medical billing experience
• Epic EHR Experience
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Experience working with EMR and practice management systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

Requirements

• Medical Insurance Billing Certificate (preferred)
• 5+ years of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare (preferred)

Skills for Success

• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer guidelines
• Understanding of CPT, ICD, and HCPCS coding
• Familiarity with medical terminology and HIPAA requirements
• Ability to research and resolve complex billing issues
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
