Role Description

The Renewables Technologist support role is responsible for the inspection and repair of electrical generating equipment and must have the ability to work with some degree of independence on many tasks. This position requires a high level of safety awareness.

Repair and maintenance of Wind Fleet
Perform small and large corrective tasks on wind turbines
Lead teams of technicians as assigned on tasks within areas of developed expertise
Provide mentorship and training to Associate Technologists as directed
Interact directly with customers as directed by manager
Develop technical expertise for the identification and resolution of problems and complete repairs to electrical generating equipment on an increasing number of technologies and tasks
Strive to continuously improve job-related and technical knowledge, skills and performance
Diagnose and resolve faults on wind turbines as they relate to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems
Perform assigned tasks in accordance with all policy, procedures
Support business goals through safe and efficient execution of assigned tasks
Develop positive working relationships with team members and customers
Assist with scheduling, dispatching and travel coordination in support of project requirements
Oversee subcontractor activities on site as directed
Work as scheduled
Climb up to 400 ft. several times daily
Maintain a high level of safety awareness at all times
Work in an outdoor environment for an extended period of time
Operate equipment including but not limited to forklifts and commercial motor vehicles

Qualifications

High School/GED
Associates degree
For Level I: One (1) year minimum related work experience or three (3) years minimum of related work experience in lieu of degree
For Level II: Two (2) years minimum related work experience or four (4) years minimum of related work experience in lieu of degree or technical diploma

Requirements

Safe Working Weight Requirement: This position contains a weight restriction of 265 pounds as an essential function of the job
Valid Driver’s License required
Ability to climb turbine towers (up to 400ft) daily
Ability to lift 75lbs individually
Ability to pass a background check and pass a drug test
Able to pass a pre-employment physical
Completion of OEM or third-party technical specialty training program
